David Gansberg

President and Chief Executive Officer

David Gansberg serves as President and Chief Executive officer of Arch Capital Group, Ltd.’s (ACGL) U.S. mortgage insurance operation (Arch MI). Mr. Gansberg has held this position since Arch MI was launched in January 2014, following ACGL’s acquisition of CMG MI and certain assets of PMI Mortgage Insurance Company. Mr. Gansberg was active in the acquisition and led the effort to obtain approval of the company as an eligible mortgage insurer from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He has since led the development of Arch MI into a leader in the private mortgage insurance market.

Upon the completion of the acquisition of United Guaranty Corporation by ACGL on December 31, 2016, Mr. Gansberg assumed leadership of the combined entity in the United States. He continues to serve as President and CEO of the merged operations under the Arch MI brand and is leading the company through its business integration.

Before assuming his leadership role at Arch MI in 2014, Mr. Gansberg held positions with various ACGL subsidiaries, participating in the creation and profitable growth of several successful reinsurance operating companies and business units. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of Arch Reinsurance Company, with underwriting responsibility for numerous lines of business as well as operational oversight of claims and informational technology.

Previously, Mr. Gansberg served as Senior Vice President of Arch Capital Services, Inc., supporting Arch’s Worldwide Reinsurance Group. He made significant contributions to the creation of new business units in the United States and Europe that underwrite specialty property and casualty reinsurance products.

Mr. Gansberg originally joined Arch Re, Ltd. in Bermuda in 2001 as an underwriter for the international treaty casualty business unit. He began his career as an actuary for Cigna and transferred to ACE Bermuda in 1999 following that company’s purchase of Cigna’s property and casualty business.

He is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and Casualty Actuarial Society. Mr. Gansberg holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.


Tom Jeter

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Jeter is responsible for the company’s financial matters, including capital management, treasury, financial planning and analysis, tax compliance, financial reporting and accounting.

Mr. Jeter came to Arch MI in January 2014 from PMI Mortgage Insurance Co., where he served as Chief Financial Officer after being appointed to the position in late 2011. Prior to this appointment, he was PMI’s Group Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller.

Mr. Jeter has a solid background in accounting and finance. Before joining PMI in 2002, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as a Senior Manager in the financial services division and was a leader in the West Coast mortgage banking practice. In addition to his public accounting experience, he worked for two years as Vice President of Finance at Provident Funding, a top 20 mortgage originator based in Burlingame, CA, where he was responsible for Treasury operations, securitizations, financial reporting and accounting.

A graduate of the University of San Francisco, Mr. Jeter holds a Bachelor of Science in finance, is a Certified Public Accountant in California and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.


Cheryl Feltgen

Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer

As Chief Risk Officer, Cheryl Feltgen has responsibility for risk management oversight of Arch MI. She leads a team dedicated to advancing the risk culture, articulating a risk appetite and supporting the business in identifying, measuring, monitoring, controlling and reporting all risk types.

Her responsibilities include the Enterprise Risk Management Program, portfolio risk management, operational risk management, and quality control and loss investigations.

Ms. Feltgen has decades of experience in financial services and real estate investments, including eight years in risk management and operating unit leadership positions at GE Capital.

Ms. Feltgen received her B.A. in economics and political science from Northwestern University and her MBA in accounting and finance from the University of Michigan.


John Gaines

Executive Vice President, Chief Credit and Pricing Officer

As Chief Credit and Pricing Officer, John Gaines oversees Arch MI’s Pricing, Credit Policy, Underwriting Modeling, Product Development and Client Risk Management teams.

Prior to joining Arch MI, he held the position of Chief Underwriting Officer at United Guaranty Corporation, which was acquired by Arch MI at the end of 2016. He served previously as United Guaranty’s SVP-Deputy Chief Risk Officer, SVP-National Accounts, SVP-Operations and SVP-Chief Operating Officer of the company’s operations in Canada.

Mr. Gaines is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society. He earned a B.S. in mathematics from Bob Jones University and an M.S. in mathematics from Clemson University.


Carl Tyree

Executive Vice President, Chief Sales Officer

As Chief Sales Officer, Carl Tyree oversees Arch MI’s sales teams and manages customer relationship strategies.

He was promoted to his current position in 2018. Mr. Tyree joined the company in 2013 as Vice President for National Accounts, where he managed the company’s relationships with the top 50 lenders, and became Senior Vice President for National Accounts in 2016.

Prior to joining Arch MI, Mr. Tyree held senior sales and sales leadership roles with Republic Mortgage Insurance Company, Nomura Credit & Capital Inc. and Ocwen Financial Corporation.

He holds a B.A. in Economics from Salisbury University.


Sara Millard

Executive Vice President and General Counsel

As General Counsel, Sara Millard oversees a team responsible for all legal, regulatory and compliance services across Arch MI Holdings (Arch MI) and its subsidiaries. Prior to joining Arch MI, she served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of United Guaranty Corporation (UG), which was acquired by Arch MI at the end of 2016.

Previously, Ms. Millard held the position of Deputy General Counsel with legal responsibility for advising all operational areas, including loss management, national production, servicing, marketing and communications, contract management, training, and project management.

Ms. Millard holds a J.D. summa cum laude from North Carolina Central University and a B.A. cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association and the Greensboro Bar Association.

Ms. Millard serves on the boards of Community Housing Solutions, a Greensboro-based nonprofit that provides home repairs and disability modifications for qualifying low-income homeowners, and Guilford Education Alliance, a nonprofit that builds commitment to educational success for all Guilford County citizens, with emphasis on the success of the Guilford County schools.


Jim Jumpe

Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

As Chief Marketing Officer, Jim Jumpe oversees a long-term strategy to steward the Arch MI brand, help drive sales through effective customer communication, events, advertising and marketing collateral, and develop and execute innovative marketing strategies.

Prior to his appointment as head of marketing for Arch MI, Mr. Jumpe held marketing and product leadership positions at PMI Mortgage Insurance Co. and CMG Mortgage Insurance Company. He has extensive experience in marketing communications, guiding the verbal and visual articulation of the Arch MI brand to support profitable business growth objectives.

Mr. Jumpe earned a B.A. from Humboldt State University. He has held a past license from the California Department of Real Estate and served on the California Mortgage Brokers Association Board of Directors.


Michael Hitt

Senior Vice President, Insurance Operations

Michael Hitt oversees Arch MI’s underwriting, claims, servicing and customer service teams, including the ASK Center. Previously with United Guaranty Corporation (UGC), he joined Arch MI in 2017 when the two companies merged. Michael has more than two decades of experience in the mortgage insurance industry, including positions in analytics and finance. He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Clemson University.


Amy Keyser

Vice President, Human Resources

As Vice President of Human Resources for Arch MI, Amy Keyser is responsible for leading the efforts to attract, develop and retain the best talent for the company.

Ms. Keyser joined Arch MI in 2017. She is responsible for the overall human resources function, including implementing Arch MI’s talent management strategy, driving employee engagement and fostering a high-performance culture for a competitive business advantage.

Previously, Ms. Keyser held a series of senior executive positions with Fireman’s Fund and was in private practice as a management-defense employment attorney with several San Francisco law firms. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and a J.D. from the University of Virginia. She is a member of the California State Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association.

Ms. Keyser also holds a professional certificate from Duke University in human resource management and is SHRM-SCP credentialed.
